Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Destin Craven (ranked 1533 p4p, 1299 weight class) and Kodiyak Redd (ranked 125 p4p, 105 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 33 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Destin Craven!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kodiyak Redd!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Craven's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Craven duly obliges.
Redd uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Craven.
Decent striking displayed by Craven there.
Redd uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Craven.
Craven fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Craven tries to bum rush Redd with a series of wild strikes but Redd uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Redd displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Craven throws out the jab.
Redd feints a counter leg kick.
Craven displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Redd fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Craven manages to avoid it.
A little feinted left hand from Craven on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
A nice leg kick from Craven, right into the meat of the thigh.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Craven looks to throw the jab but Redd is out of range.
Redd has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Redd there as he acknowledges the shot.
Craven will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Craven throws a series of punches but Redd avoids them all with ease.
Redd looks for the body kick but Craven saw that one coming.
Redd walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Redd misses with a looping right.
Craven uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Redd.
Craven throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Craven shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Redd dodges the punch combination from Craven.
Craven moves away from the strike by Redd.

Craven throws a looping overhand right but Redd ducks down to avoid it.
Craven looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Craven throws a right hand that Redd ducks under and follows up with a left that Redd also avoids with ease.
Craven throws a sloppy head kick and Redd moves out of range easily.

Craven shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Craven was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
You can see the frustration on Redd's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Redd takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Redd is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Craven wants to lay and pray for a moment but Redd keeps working.
Redd is still in real trouble! Can Craven finish him?

Craven tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Craven has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Craven lands a decent elbow from side control.
Redd manages to get back to half guard.

Craven is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Redd defends it well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Craven wants to work for an arm triangle but Redd is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Redd wants to improve his position but Craven is controlling well.
Still in half guard, Craven seems content to control.

Craven is looking for a kimura here.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Craven connects with a nice short shot to Redd's temple.
Craven has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Craven is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Redd can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Destin Craven dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.


Redd tries to sprawl but Craven drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Craven is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Craven is keen to just control but Redd is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Craven prevents Redd from improving his position.
Redd is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Craven's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Craven's back!

Craven rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Redd is breathing heavily.
Craven is looking for a sweep. Redd is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Craven is looking to escape.
Craven is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Redd's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Redd's back!

Craven has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Redd is defending well but eventually Craven manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Redd has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Destin Craven!

Destin Craven tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
