This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 39 wins and 22 losses; Jisoo Oh! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 22 wins and 22 losses; Julián Cicerón! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Cicerón feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Oh (0) vs (2) Cicerón Cicerón wants to pass the guard but Oh is keeping the position. Oh pulls Cicerón in close to prevent any damage. Oh is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at HELLCADEMY that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Cicerón controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Cicerón's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oh is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cicerón's corner is telling him to maintain position. Cicerón tries to free his leg and advance position but Oh is retaining full guard. Cicerón controls the pace of the fight for a moment. My spies in HELLCADEMY inform me that Cicerón has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! More stalling from Cicerón. Oh is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cicerón stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oh swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cicerón engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Cicerón with more of the same as he continues to hold on. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oh trying to control the position here. Cicerón is stalling in the full guard.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Cicerón preventing the sweep. Oh keeping full guard, as Cicerón tries to pass. Oh has his foot on Cicerón's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cicerón works his way back into a safe position though. Cicerón passes into half guard. Cicerón controlling the action here.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Cicerón frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Score +3 for passing guard: Oh (0) vs (5) Cicerón Cicerón tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Oh stops Cicerón from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Cicerón prevents Oh from getting the reversal. Oh regains half guard. Cicerón not doing much here.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Cicerón trying to pass the guard but Oh defending well. Cicerón is taking a breather. Oh says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Oh trying to control from the bottom.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Cicerón seems content to control. Cicerón is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Oh! Score +3 for passing guard: Oh (0) vs (8) Cicerón Oh is looking to get to half guard. Oh sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Oh is controlling Cicerón's trapped leg to prevent Cicerón from advancing to side control. Cicerón is looking to advance position but Oh won't allow it.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. Well, if Cicerón is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's eleven minutes gone in the round. It looks like Cicerón might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Oh trying to control but Cicerón postures up.

That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Oh wants to control but Cicerón is keeping busy.
Cicerón wants to pass the guard but Oh is defending well. Cicerón not doing much here.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Oh is trying to get back to full guard. Cicerón is controlling the pace.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cicerón wants to lay and pray for a moment but Oh keeps working.
