Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sherman Brooks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Panny Macquiao! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brooks with a lazy takedown attempt and Macquiao counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Brooks misses with a hook
and Macquiao counters with a two punch combo. Brooks tries a head kick but it misses.

and Macquiao counters with a left and a right that stings Brooks. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A momentary lapse in concentration from Macquiao enables Brooks to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Macquiao manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Macquiao is wriggling around but Brooks manages to pass to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Macquiao wants to stand back up but Brooks manages to pass into side control.
Brooks is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Macquiao has escaped the position, nice work there. Brooks tries for a kimura but Macquiao is defending well. Macquiao really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brooks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Brooks controlling from side mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Macquiao on the wrong end of some ground and pound. The referee asks Brooks politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Brooks prefers to stall for the moment though. Brooks landing strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brooks is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Macquiao looks calm but he's in trouble here. Brooks gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Macquiao is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Brooks lets go of the hold and Macquiao can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sherman Brooks!
