And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 45 wins and 32 losses; Scott Hall! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Anderson closes the distance and clinches.
Anderson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Anderson manages to end up in side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Anderson (4) vs (0) Hall Anderson in the domination position with Hall hanging on. Hall manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Anderson (4) vs (2) Hall Hall tries to pass to full mount but Anderson defends it. Hall trying to control the pace. Hall wants to pass to mount but Anderson is defending the position. Anderson is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Jed's Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hall passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Anderson!  That's one minute gone in the round. Let's hope that Hall has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Hall avoids the attempt from Anderson to control. Anderson is looking to improve his position but Hall isn't that keen on the idea. Hall controlling the pace for now.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Hall's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Hall seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Anderson is holding on tight.

Hall controls the action. Anderson trying to control the action but Hall just sinks the hooks in. Hall really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Anderson.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. More stalling from Hall. Anderson wants to control his opponent's hands but Hall gets his hands free. Hall has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Anderson's body.
It looks like Hall might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. Hall gets his hands free as Anderson looks to control. Hall controls the action. Hall is continuing to stall. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Hall. Anderson trying to control the hands but Hall won't let him.

Hall slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
You can see the frustration on Anderson's face� He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hall controlling from the back. Anderson wants to escape the position.

Hall is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Hall controlling the positon.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
 That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Hall tries to pass the half guard into mount. Anderson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Hall seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The adventures of Hall the control monster continue. Boring.
 That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Hall uses his free foot to push down on Anderson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Anderson. And that's the end of the fight! Hall wins on points by 14 to 4. A relieved looking Scott Hall thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
