Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Felo Puapua (ranked 3870 p4p, 3749 weight class) and Yaro Bakes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Felo Puapua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Yaro Bakes! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Chris Dean and Ben Hemmingworth.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bakes bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Bakes working the strikes but Puapua uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Bakes looks to land a strike but Puapua avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Bakes postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Puapua controls Bakes momentarily but Bakes frees himself. Puapua will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bakes throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Bakes trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bakes throws a strike but Puapua rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Puapua stands and throws Bakes's legs to the side, diving into side control. You can see the frustration on Bakes's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Bakes holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Bakes wants to control but Puapua postures up. Bakes is trying to work for a sweep but Puapua has mounted him! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Puapua controlling from mount. Bakes wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bakes looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Puapua keeps control of the position as Bakes tries to break free.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. What can Bakes do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Bakes just trying to survive but Puapua is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Puapua is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Bakes looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bakes just looking to survive in the bad position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Felo Puapua dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bakes looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bakes throws a strike but Puapua rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Bakes has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Puapua preventing the sweep. Puapua is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Bakes looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Bakes trying to control the position.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bakes has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Puapua wants to control from the top but Bakes keeps moving. Bakes pulls Puapua in close to his closed guard and prevents Puapua from doing any damage or advancing position.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Puapua tries to clinch up. Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Bakes looking to score a takedown here. Puapua is defending well but Bakes drives through and ends up in Puapua's guard. Bakes throws an elbow that misses. Puapua uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bakes's guard. Nice move by Puapua!

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Bakes is pulling down on Puapua's head. It's preventing any offense from Puapua, at least for the moment. Bakes being controlled here, momentarily. Bakes controlling Puapua's posture.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Puapua slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Bakes has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bakes wants to control but Puapua passes easily into half guard.

A close second round but Yaro Bakes will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Bakes closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Puapua is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bakes scores with a couple of nice shots. Puapua taking some punishment here, with Bakes in his half guard. Bakes misses with a head shot. Puapua uses the momentum to regain guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bakes's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Bakes lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Puapua is pulling down on Bakes's head to control his posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bakes throws an elbow that misses. Puapua uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bakes's guard. Nice move by Puapua!

Bakes pulls Puapua in to control the position. Puapua pushes down on Bakes's leg and manages to get into half guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bakes controlling the position for now. Let's hope that Bakes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Bakes wants to get back to full guard. Bakes is concentrating on defense, preventing Puapua from advancing position.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bakes tightens his grip and picks Puapua up, before dumping him to the ground. Puapua manages to land in guard. Bakes throws an elbow that misses. Puapua uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bakes's guard. Nice move by Puapua!
Bakes has Puapua pulled in close to control his posture. Bakes controls Puapua momentarily but Puapua frees himself. Bakes is pulling down on Puapua's head to control his posture.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Puapua passes Bakes's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Puapua is thwarting Bakes's attempts to control the position. Bakes keeps control of the position for the meantime. Bakes is trying to control but can't.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Yaro Bakes. I think Bakes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
