Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mauricio Zhang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Usaa Mera!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mera on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Zhang looks to land a left hand but Mera moved out of range nicely.
Zhang jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Mera takes one to the chin there.
Usaa Mera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mera takes one to the side of the head.
Mera is rocked!
Mera shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Zhang sprawls well. Zhang wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mera gets slowly back to his feet.
Zhang misses with a looping right.
Mera defending well as Zhang loads up on a big left hand.
Nice sprawl there from Zhang as Mera shoots in.
Zhang misses with a straight left.
The fighters circling - Zhang throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Zhang feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Meras jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Zhang misses with a straight left.
Mera drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Zhang defends it well.
Mera bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Zhang cracks Mera with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Zhang has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Mera to stand back up!
Mera is still on wobbly legs! Can Zhang finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mera is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Zhang's half guard.
Zhang wants to improve his position but Mera is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mera decides to stand and escape the position.
Mera seems to have recovered his senses.
Zhang waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mera.
Zhang scores with the left hand. Mera knows he should have avoided that one.
Zhang throws a looping overhand right but Mera ducks down to avoid it.
Zhang throws a hook but Mera avoids it easily.
Mera defending well as Zhang loads up on a big left hand.
Mera needs to keep his hands up - Zhang had a free shot at his head there.
Mauricio Zhang is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zhang lands with an uppercut that bounces Mera off the cage and back into range.
Zhang sends Mera crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Zhang is motioning to the referee to let Mera up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zhang closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Mera! Zhang dives in looking to finish! Mera is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
