Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mitch Kingston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Russ Simons!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simons on the wrong end of a nice jab.

It looks like Russ Simons has been cut.
Simons takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Simons fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Simons connects with a jab.
Simons drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Kingston cracks Simons with an open hand slap.
Simons slips under a jab from Kingston.
Kingston shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Simons slips a jab from Kingston.
Kingston takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

That has opened up Russ Simons's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Simons throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Kingston looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Sloppy strikes from Simons. Those never looked like landing.
Simons slips under a jab from Kingston.
Russ Simons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch combination from Simons misses.
Kingston throws a body shot but no joy.
Simons looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Simons swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Simons lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kingston circles away quickly and effectively.
It looked like Kingston wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Simons throws a combination that misses
and Kingston counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kingston bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Kingston misses with a hook.
Kingston tries a head kick but it misses.
Simons unleashes a big counter combination but Kingston bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Simons loads up on a big right hand but Kingston slips the punch.
Simons misses with a wild combination.
Kingston misses with a looping left.
Kingston is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Simons throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kingston tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice defenses there by Kingston.
Kingston appears to be looking for a big counter.
Kingston swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Some wild striking there from Simons.

Kingston ducks under a wild hook from Simons.
Kingston is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Kingston slips a jab and a cross from Simons.

Kingston throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Simons sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Kingston drops Simons with a beautiful combination! Simons stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kingston is looking for the KO!
Simons throws an off balance right hand
and Kingston connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Russ Simons's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Simons throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kingston counters with a left to the body.
Simons throws a right hand that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Kingston sends Simons crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Kingston is motioning to the referee to let Simons up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Russ Simons's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mitch Kingston!
After winning the bout, Mitch Kingston thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
