Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Owen Wall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, BJ Lewson!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wall as he avoids it easily.
Wall takes a swing at Lewson's ribcage but misses.
Lewson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wall's waist but Wall gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lewson off to one side.
Lewson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wall circles away.
Owen Wall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of BJ Lewson.
Lewson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wall avoids it really well and circles away.
Wall appears to be looking for a big counter.
Wall attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Wall looks to land a combination but Lewson avoids it well.
Wall throws a leg kick

and Lewson counters with a single leg into guard. Wall didn't expect that.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Wall manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Wall escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wall misses with a low kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wall slaps away a takedown attempt from Lewson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Wall throwing a counter right hand but Lewson manages to avoid it.

Lewson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Wall is looking for a counter combo.
Lewson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wall sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Wall throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Lewson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Wall fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Lewson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wall as he jumps to the side.
Wall could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lewson.
Lewson blocks a low kick nicely.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Wall throws a head kick but Lewson moves out of range.
Wall with the inside leg kick.
Wall tries to work over Lewson's front leg with a kick but Lewson checks it.
Lewson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wall as he avoids it easily.
Wall throws a counter high kick but Lewson was just alert enough to avoid it.
Wall is looking to score with low kicks.
Lewson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wall swivels and escapes.
Lewson blocks a low kick nicely.
Lewson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lewson shoots in looking for a takedown. Wall tries to sprawl out of it but Lewson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wall manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A low kick from Wall is predictable there

and Lewson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Wall pushes Lewson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lewson gets the takedown into side control.

Wall is trying to get back to his feet.

Lewson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lewson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Lewson advances to mount.
Wall is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Lewson is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Lewson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). BJ Lewson!
BJ Lewson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
