Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Soo Young Yoo (ranked 2100 p4p, 2712 weight class) and Brock Duncan (ranked 146 p4p, 183 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Soo Young Yoo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brock Duncan!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duncan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Yoo to the mat! Yoo manages to get full guard.
Yoo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Yoo seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yoo lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Yoo wants to control from the top but Duncan keeps moving.
Yoo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Yoo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Duncan wants to get back to his feet but Yoo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yoo wants to control from the top but Duncan keeps moving.

Yoo forces his way into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yoo is trying to control the action in half guard but Duncan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Yoo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Duncan wants to control but Yoo is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Duncan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yoo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Yoo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Yoo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Duncan is looking to get back to is feet but Yoo passes into side control.
Duncan is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Duncan tries to escape back to his feet but Yoo has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Duncan's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Duncan is tapping! Yoo saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Soo Young Yoo!
