Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Thompson (ranked 1347 p4p, 1108 weight class) and Gerry Line (ranked 173 p4p, 140 weight class). Thompson comes into the arena with Redneck Summer - Ben Hudson blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 41 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerry Line!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson lands a nice looking body shot.
Thompson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Thompson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Line thows a left - swing and a miss!
Thompson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Line doesn't seem bothered though.
Thompson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Line to score with a decent uppercut.
Line lands a slapping body shot.
Thompson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Thompson feinted with a counter takedown.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thompson thows a huge punch but Line dodges it nicely.
Thompson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Line is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Thompson scores with a couple of nice shots.
Thompson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Line tries to lock up and control but Thompson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thompson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Line can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Thompson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Thompson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Thompson loads up with a big shot that hurts Line! He's pulled Thompson in close but Thompson has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Line survive? More strikes from Thompson and Line is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
