The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Mack is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hughes defends well. Hughes has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Mack tries to bench press Hughes off him but Hughes keeps the position. Mack can't do much from the bottom here.

Hughes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mack doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hughes. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hughes prevents Mack from improving his position.

He's locked it up tight! Hughes's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Mack picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
