Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Leon Davies (ranked 3850 p4p, 3806 weight class) and Matt Rojas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Leon Davies! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matt Rojas! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojas scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Davies bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Davies checks a leg kick nicely. Davies is looking to counter the offense by Rojas and move into the clinch.
Davies gets tackled into the cage by Rojas. Rojas maintains the clinch. Davies is defending well against a takedown attempt. Davies working hard to break the clinch. Davies avoiding damage as Rojas throws knees to the body.
Davies blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Rojas changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Davies fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Davies wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Rojas takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Davies dodges the punch combination from Rojas.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Davies. No joy for Rojas on that attempt. Leon Davies has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Rojas. A looping hook to the body misses from Rojas. Davies does a little dance to reset his feet. Davies went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Rojas fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Rojas misses with a two punch combination.
Davies lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Rojas darts in looking for a takedown but Davies gets double underhooks and turns Rojas into the cage. It looked like Davies was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Rojas looks winded! Davies cracks Rojas with an open hand slap. Davies lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Davies with a body punch. A glancing blow. Rojas takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Davies scores with a three punch combo!
 Rojas is rocked!
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Davies swats away the attempt to clinch by Rojas. Rojas is still on wobbly legs! Can Davies finish him? Davies scores with a three punch combo!
Davies is looking to land body kicks. Rojas fails in his attempt to clinch. Davies scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Davies keeps the fight on the outside. Rojas tries to clinch but Davies moves out of range.
Davies shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Davies was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Davies decides to stand back up.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Davies darts in looking for a takedown but Rojas gets double underhooks and turns Davies into the cage. Rojas is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Rojas seems to have recovered his senses. Davies wants a takedown but no success here.

Rojas tightens his grip and picks Davies up, before dumping him to the ground. Davies manages to land in guard.
Davies wriggles free and stands up. Davies shoots in and drives through. Rojas sprawls well. Davies blocks a jab.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Davies shoots in and drives through. Rojas sprawls well. Rojas is trying hard to land a takedown here. Davies sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Davies showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rojas.
Davies darts in and clinches Rojas up against the cage. Rojas keeps control of Davies as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Davies tries to break free but Rojas pushes him back against the cage. Rojas tries to pull guard but Davies forces him back to his feet, against the cage. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Davies being controlled here momentarily.

Davies is defending well against a takedown attempt. Rojas tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Davies smiles and moves away.

Davies is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rojas can do to turn this around? Davies scores with a decent looking hook. Davies's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Davies duly obliges. Davies misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Leon Davies is winning the standup battle so far. Davies misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rojas rushes Davies and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rojas is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Davies is defending well. Rojas is breathing heavily. Davies wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Davies is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Rojas dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Davies is working the combinations to good effect here. No luck with that takedown attempt from Davies. Rojas throws out a counter right but Davies avoids it with no problem. Davies tries to clinch up. Rojas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Davies swivels and escapes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rojas looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Davies cracks a nice hook into Rojas's ribs. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Leon Davies dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Davies tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rojas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Davies somewhat. A nice combination there by Davies.
Rojas looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Davies! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Davies is trying to get back to his feet. Rojas is looking to take a break and control but Davies is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Rojas prevents Davies from escaping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rojas controlling the position from side mount. Davies is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rojas is controlling him well. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rojas fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Davies to the ground. Rojas is now in Davies's guard.
Davies manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Davies wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Rojas tries to pull guard but Davies forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Davies has had enough of the clinch but Rojas keeps him there for the moment. Davies is trying to break free. Davies is trying to force a seperation but Rojas has the dominant position. Davies is trying to break the clinch but Rojas has him pressed against the cage. With the fighters up against the cage, Rojas throws an elbow but misses.
Rojas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Davies misses with a double jab.
Davies lands a right hook to the body.
Davies is looking to land body kicks. Davies works over Rojas's head and body with a nice combination. Davies shoots in and drives through. Rojas sprawls well. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Davies tries to land a front kick but Rojas steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Davies keeps the fight on the outside. Rojas fails in his attempt to clinch. No luck for Rojas with that takedown attempt. Matt Rojas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Davies shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rojas sprawls well. Rojas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Davies gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leon Davies. That's going to take a lot out of him. A leg kick checked by Davies. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rojas. Davies seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rojas fails with a takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Leon Davies showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Davies, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
