Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kai Asakura (ranked 3870 p4p, 3808 weight class) and Lucas Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kai Asakura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lucas Meyer!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Asakura feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Meyer wants to stand and escape but Asakura is having none of it.
Asakura slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Asakura connects with a couple of short punches.
Asakura is pushing down on Meyer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Meyer is fighting to maintain full guard but Asakura has managed to sneak the leg through.

Asakura looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Meyer pushes Asakura off looking to stand but Asakura dives back in and keeps control.
Meyer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Asakura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Asakura looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Asakura decides to stand up.
Asakura takes one on the button.

Asakura tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Meyer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kai Asakura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Asakura fails with a takedown attempt.
Meyer throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Asakura on the side of the head.

Asakura gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
With the fighters up against the cage, Meyer throws an elbow but misses.
Asakura really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Asakura has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Meyer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Meyer lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

It looks like Kai Asakura has been cut.
Asakura wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kai Asakura. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Asakura jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Meyer walks away with a smile on his face. Asakura gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Asakura tries a head kick but it misses.
Asakura is trying hard to land a takedown here. Meyer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Meyer misses with a looping right.
Asakura uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Meyer.

Asakura throws a series of strikes that have Meyer backpedaling.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Meyer scores with a body shot.

Asakura looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Asakura is breathing heavily.
Asakura controlling the action here.

Meyer is trying to stand.
Asakura is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Meyer!
Meyer tries to buck Asakura off but Asakura takes his back!

Meyer manages to stand up with Asakura still on his back. Eventually Asakura drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
Asakura closes the distance but Meyer moves to the side
and Meyer counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Asakura scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Asakura has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Asakura walks into a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Meyer ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Meyer pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Meyer works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Meyer scores with a decent looking hook.
Meyer dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Meyer throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Asakura on the side of the head.
Asakura shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Meyer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Decent striking displayed by Meyer there.
Asakura takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Meyer is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Asakura drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Lucas Meyer dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kai Asakura's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Asakura lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Meyer circles away quickly and effectively.
Asakura throws a big shot that misses.
Asakura shoots and misses
and Meyer counters with a nice uppercut.
Asakura misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A little jabbing left from Meyer on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Meyer throws a hook but Asakura avoids it easily.
Meyer scores with a nice head shot.
Asakura dodges the punch combination from Meyer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Asakura just misses with a punch to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Meyer! But no joy.
Asakura tries for a takedown but Meyer circles away easily
and Meyer counters with a straight right hand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Asakura fails with the takedown
enabling Meyer to counter with a crisp jab.

Meyer tests Asakura's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Lucas Meyer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Asakura takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Meyer cracks Asakura with a good jab.
Meyer uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Asakura has time to react.
Asakura tries to clinch
and Meyer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Meyer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Asakura is rocked!
Meyer connects with a right hand. Asakura shakes it off.
Oh Asakura is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Meyer lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Asakura falls backwards - clearly groggy! Meyer dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lucas Meyer!
A very excited looking Lucas Meyer made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
