Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Whole Nutz (ranked 1726 p4p, 1457 weight class) and Zé Jiurgite (ranked 230 p4p, 195 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Whole Nutz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zé Jiurgite!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nutz feints and as Jiurgite raises his hands in defense, Nutz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jiurgite has his foot on Nutz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nutz works his way back into a safe position though.
Jiurgite looking for a guillotine here but Nutz defends easily.
Nutz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Nutz trying to control but Jiurgite is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nutz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jiurgite swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nutz wants to control from the top but Jiurgite keeps moving.

Our spies down at at Gronk Apes inform us that Jiurgite has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Nutz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Nutz is pushing down on Jiurgite's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jiurgite is fighting to maintain full guard but Nutz has managed to sneak the leg through.

Nutz is looking to advance position but Jiurgite won't allow it.
We've been hearing good reports from Nutz's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Nutz is keen to just control but Jiurgite is a slippery customer.
Jiurgite is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nutz pulls his head out easily.
Nutz is trying to control the action in half guard but Jiurgite is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Nutz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jiurgite defends it well.
Jiurgite is refusing to be controlled, as Nutz sits in half guard.
Jiurgite won't allow Nutz to pass to mount.

Jiurgite tries to get to full guard but Nutz has control of the leg.
Nutz wants to pass the guard but Jiurgite is defending well.
Nutz is looking for a kimura but Jiurgite is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nutz to get the leverage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Nutz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jiurgite knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Nutz wants to take a breather but Jiurgite is having none of it.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jiurgite throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Jiurgite with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Nutz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jiurgite was well out of range. Poor timing from Nutz.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A chopping leg kick lands by Jiurgite.
Nutz will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Jiurgite swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Jiurgite looks to throw the jab but Nutz is out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Whole Nutz dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!
Nutz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nutz showed some decent athleticism there.
Nutz decides to return to a standing position.
Jiurgite bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Nutz's head backwards.
It looks like Whole Nutz has been cut.
Nutz throws a right hand that Jiurgite ducks under and follows up with a left that Jiurgite also avoids with ease.
Nutz misses with a takedown attempt - Jiurgite sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Whole Nutz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nutz drives through with a takedown into Jiurgite's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Nutz looking to improve position, pressing down on Jiurgite's thigh with his hand. Jiurgite seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Nutz paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Nutz's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Jiurgite picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
