This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 35 wins and 15 losses; Android Sixty Five! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 36 wins and 29 losses; Khalid Magomedov! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Sixty Five shoots in looking for a takedown but Magomedov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sixty Five's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Khalid Magomedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sixty Five gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Magomedov to score an easy takedown into full guard. Let's hope that Magomedov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Magomedov working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Magomedov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Sixty Five is pulling down on Magomedov's head to control his posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sixty Five keeping moving, preventing Magomedov from controlling successfully.
