Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Emelia Kooldfish (ranked 2436 p4p, 23236 weight class) and Daijiro Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Emelia Kooldfish! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daijiro Kimura! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kimura fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kooldfish stuffs the takedown. Kooldfish seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Kimura throws a head kick that misses. Kooldfish tries to counter by clinching up but Kimura breaks away and moves out of range. Kimura shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kooldfish pinned against the cage. Kooldfish gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kooldfish seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Emelia Kooldfish has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daijiro Kimura. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kimura misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Kooldfish appears to be looking for a big counter. Kimura doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kooldfish counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Kooldfish makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kimura shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kooldfish wants to sweep here but Kimura controlling him for the moment. Kooldfish is working hard here to advance position. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kimura lands a jab to Kooldfish's midsection.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kimura with a lazy takedown attempt and Kooldfish holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Kooldfish working aggressively here.
Kimura is trying to pull guard but Kooldfish turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Kimura tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kooldfish smiles and moves away.
Kooldfish keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kimura doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kooldfish makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kimura tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kooldfish's legs. Kimura wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kooldfish keeps working. Kimura goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kooldfish rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kimura's guard! Nice work there by Kooldfish! Kooldfish trying to control the position from guard on top but Kimura is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kimura is trying to control the position but Kooldfish postures up. Kooldfish preventing the sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kimura seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Kooldfish is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kooldfish has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Kooldfish has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Kimura can't keep his opponent in guard - Kooldfish advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Kimura is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kooldfish pulls his head out easily. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kooldfish in particular looking to stall. Kooldfish is trying to control. Kimura wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kimura shoots and misses and Kooldfish connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Kimura with a poor takedown letting Kooldfish counter with a right hand. Kooldfish manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kooldfish tries to counter by clinching up but Kimura breaks away and moves out of range. Kimura changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kooldfish looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
