Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wala Sapi (ranked 23269 p4p, 23050 weight class) and Higanti Libat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 60 - 56 - 13, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wala Sapi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 49 - 73 - 6, fighting out of Las Vegas, Higanti Libat!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Sapi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Libat!
Libat is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

You can see the frustration on Libat's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Libat dives in for a single leg takedown but Sapi sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Sapi thinks about countering with a body kick.

Sapi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Libat but Libat pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And Libat responds with a good body kick, but Sapi manages to step out the way in time.
Libat dives in for a single leg takedown but Sapi sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Sapi throws a quick counter kick to the body but Libat avoids it.
Sapi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Libat as he jumps to the side.
Despite the aggression on Libat's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Sapi fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Libat to the ground. Sapi is now in Libat's guard.
Libat wants to sweep but no luck.
Libat is still trying to improve position.
Libat working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sapi.
Sapi controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sapi stopping the sweep attempt from Libat.
Libat keeps trying to improve his position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Sapi throwing strikes but missing.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Sapi goes for a double leg but Libat avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Libat continues to drive forward.
Libat steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wala Sapi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sapi is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sapi manages to break the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Wala Sapi dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Sapi dives in and grabs Libat's left leg, looking for a takedown. Libat pushes down on Sapi's head and hops out.
Sapi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Libat closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sapi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Libat is working away from the top position though.

Sapi manages to get to full guard.
Libat seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sapi looking for a sweep. Not yet Sapi, not yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sapi is working hard here to advance position.
Libat's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Sapi pulls Libat in to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A thudding body kick lands there by Libat!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Libat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Libat staying calm.
Sapi is looking to reverse the position.
Sapi keeps Libat under control for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Higanti Libat showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Sapi gets caught flat footed, as Libat shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Libat throwing strikes but missing.
Sapi has Libat pulled in close to control his posture.
Sapi is looking to stand up but Libat isn't so interested in that idea.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Libat content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Libat has control of Sapi's left arm, preventing Sapi from doing any damage.

Sapi looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Sapi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Libat is looking for a triangle but Sapi pushes his legs off easily.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Sapi shoots in for a takedown but Libat shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Higanti Libat.
I think Libat has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
