Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mmm Mmm (ranked 22707 p4p, 25344 weight class) and Ricky Hatton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 137 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mmm Mmm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricky Hatton!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hatton gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hatton drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mmm gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Hatton breaks from the clinch.

Hatton clinches up with Mmm and pushes him back against the cage.
Mmm prevents a takedown attempt there.

Hatton ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hatton no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hatton working for a triangle but Mmm defends it easily.
Hatton looking for a sweep. Not yet Hatton, not yet.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hatton holds on and takes a little breather.
Hatton wants to stand and escape but Mmm is having none of it.
Hatton controlling the position.
Mmm wants to control from the top but Hatton keeps moving.
Hatton is looking to sweep but instead, Mmm has passed into half guard.
Hatton is trying to get back to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hatton regains full guard. Nicely done.
Hatton has Mmm pulled in close to control his posture.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hatton is on top in guard.


Hatton stands up and waves to Mmm to follow him.

Hatton dives in and scores a takedown into Mmm's guard.

Hatton slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hatton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mmm is keeping the position for now.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hatton engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Hatton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
It looks like Hatton might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Hatton looks for a takedown but Mmm sprawls well.

Mmm gets caught flat footed, as Hatton shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Hatton is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hatton shoots in but no luck this time.
Mmm jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Hatton shoots in looking for a takedown but Mmm manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hatton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mmm Mmm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Hatton.

Hatton fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mmm to the ground. Hatton is now in Mmm's guard.

Hatton stands up from Mmm's guard - Hatton perhaps looking for a knockout.
Hatton plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Hatton tries a head kick but it misses.
Hatton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hatton darts in and clinches Mmm up against the cage.

Hatton jumps into guard, dragging Mmm to the mat.

Mmm not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hatton has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hatton pulls Mmm in to control the position.
Mmm trying to control the position from guard on top but Hatton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mmm won't allow Hatton to sweep him here.

Hatton looking for subs off his back but Mmm has passed one foot through into half guard.
Hatton moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hatton lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hatton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hatton content to stall in guard here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ricky Hatton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Mmm shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hatton as he jumps to the side.
Hatton lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Hatton gets a clinch.
Hatton's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Hatton manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hatton lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Mmm backwards.

Hatton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hatton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
As Hatton looks to move away, Mmm throws a big counter combo but Hatton just gets out of the way.

Hatton moves into range and clinches up with Mmm.

Hatton manages to break the clinch.
Ricky Hatton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mmm stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mmm wants it to stay on the feet.
It appears Mmm was looking to counter with a kick there.
Hatton dives in and grabs Mmm's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mmm pushes down on Hatton's head and hops out.
Mmm quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Mmm Mmm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Hatton.

Hatton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mmm, pushing him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hatton has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mmm uses from the top position.

Hatton has his hands on Mmm's head, controlling the position.
Mmm wants to control from the top but Hatton keeps moving.

Hatton is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mmm is aware though and is defending well.

Hatton looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Mmm has picked Hatton up and slammed him! Hatton can't keep hold of the triangle and Mmm manages to pass to side control!

Mmm trying to control the action but Hatton is working from the bottom.
Mmm working away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mmm wants to control but Hatton is keeping him busy.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Mmm Mmm has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hatton shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mmm defends it nicely.
Mmm jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ricky Hatton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hatton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
