Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shubham Chavan (ranked 3868 p4p, 3827 weight class) and Slade Hodge (ranked 0 p4p, 345 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shubham Chavan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Slade Hodge!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chavan pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hodge back to the cage. Chavan follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Chavan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Chavan scores with a head kick. Hodge tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
A nice inside leg kick there by Chavan. That's going to slow Hodge down.
Hodge shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chavan as he avoids it easily.
Hodge tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chavan swivels and escapes.
Chavan lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Chavan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Chavan lands a jab-cross combination.
Hodge changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chavan tries to avoid it but Hodge manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chavan to the ground. Chavan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Shubham Chavan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slade Hodge.
Hodge looks for a takedown but Chavan sprawls well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Chavan throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Hodge shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chavan pinned against the cage. Chavan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hodge darts in looking for a takedown but Chavan gets double underhooks and turns Hodge into the cage.

Chavan moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Hodge on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Hodge is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Chavan can't fight it off and eventually Hodge manages to take the fight to the floor. Chavan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Chavan wriggles free and stands up.
Hodge walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Chavan checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Chavan thumps Hodge with a low kick.
Hodge tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hodge looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
As Hodge tries to get set, Chavan tries to push him back and clinch up but Hodge manages to avoid the attempt.
Hodge has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
A left and a right from Chavan both land. Nice combination.
Chavan slaps away a takedown attempt from Hodge, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Chavan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hodge dives in and grabs Chavan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chavan pushes down on Hodge's head and hops out.
Hodge closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Chavan quickly recovers to half guard.
Chavan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hodge on the ground.

Chavan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hodge can do to turn this around?
Chavan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Chavan throws a big counter combination but Hodge scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Hodge manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chavan on his heels. He'll look to pass Chavan's guard now, I'm sure.

Chavan wants to get up but he can't break Hodge's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Chavan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Chavan throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Hodge throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Chavan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hodge is in Chavan's guard.

Hodge sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Chavan's guard.

Hodge wants to advance to full mount but Chavan doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
