Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Cross (ranked 1592 p4p, 1944 weight class) and Zack Rize (ranked 197 p4p, 227 weight class). Cross comes to the cage accompanied by Irregular God. Rize is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Luke Combs - When It Rains It Pours. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Cross tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rize sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cross somewhat.

Cross looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Rize loads up on a big right hand but Cross slips the punch.

Cross goes for a double leg but Rize avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rize continues to drive forward.
Rize lands an uppercut.
Rize lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Cross drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rize lands a nice shot to the body.
Cross is breathing heavily.

Rize is working Cross over against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rize pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Nice body punch from Rize - that landed with a thud.
Rize lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Rize breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rize fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Zack Rize dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.


Rize gets a clinch.
Cross tries for a takedown. No joy.
Good body shot from Rize.
Cross wants a takedown but no success here.
Rize lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Rize makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Rize softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Cross is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rize gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Simon Cross. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A nice left hand lands by Rize.
Cross tries for a takedown but Rize manages to get underhooks.
Rize lands with a right to the head.

Cross is rocked!
Rize works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Oh Cross is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rize unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Cross! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Rize is unloading with more strikes now! Cross drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zack Rize!
After the fight, Zack Rize was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
