Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Walter Strickland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Masias!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strickland throws a head kick that half lands.
Masias shoots in and drives through. Strickland sprawls well.
Strickland scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Strickland lands with a thumping leg kick.
Walter Strickland seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Strickland looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
And Masias tries to counter it with a takedown but Strickland pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Strickland lands a big head kick that sends Masias tumbling to the mat! Strickland takes a step backwards and waves Masias back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Rodrigo Masias has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Masias is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Strickland moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Walter Strickland!
