Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Dickinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin VanDam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Bruce Dickinson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Dickinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin VanDam! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dickinson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dickinson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Dickinson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Dickinson tries to clinch but VanDam moves out of range. Dickinson tries to close the distance and clinch but VanDam swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Dickinson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and VanDam counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. VanDam prevents Dickinson from getting back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. VanDam is stalling in the full guard. VanDam trying to control but Dickinson is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. VanDam trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. VanDam passes easily into side control. Nice work. Dickinson prevents VanDam from improving position. Dickinson is trying to improve his position. Dickinson is working hard here to advance position. VanDam tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no VanDam has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! VanDam swings around for an armbar but Dickinson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into VanDam's guard. Dickinson stopping the sweep attempt from VanDam. VanDam manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. VanDam prevents Dickinson from getting the reversal. VanDam is going olschool here, as he tries to force Dickinson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Dickinson shrugs it off. Dickinson is looking to improve his position but VanDam isn't that keen on the idea. VanDam controlling his opponent. Dickinson is looking to get to half guard. Dickinson tries to hold on but VanDam postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dickinson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dickinson wants to control but VanDam is having none of it. VanDam wants to finish this one by submission but Dickinson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from VanDam. VanDam can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dickinson is looking to escape. Dickinson wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Dickinson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. VanDam working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Dickinson looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by VanDam! Submission of the night perhaps?
