The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Dukat trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dukat advances to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie trying to get back to full guard but Dukat takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Dukat looking for the choke from the back. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Dukat controls the position.

Dukat working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Gracie rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Dukat is trying to control the action in half guard but Gracie is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Dukat is figuring out what he wants to do next. Dukat trying to mount his opponent but Gracie defends it.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie is looking for a sweep. Dukat is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dukat in particular looking to stall. Gracie slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Dukat is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dukat controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Gracie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

 That's six minutes gone in the round. Dukat preventing the sweep. Gracie being controlled here, momentarily. Dukat works a leg free and moves into half guard. Gracie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gracie tries to get to full guard but Dukat has control of the leg. Gracie controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

 That's nine minutes gone in the round. Dukat controlling the action here. Dukat is trying to control. Gracie wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie. Dukat engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
 That's ten minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Dukat has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Gracie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dukat is one step ahead there.
 That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Gracie being controlled here, momentarily. Dukat stands and throws Gracie's legs to the side, diving into side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Gracie (0) vs (11) Dukat Dukat is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Gracie's shoulder. That is not cool.
 That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Gracie sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Dukat trying to control from Gracie's half guard. Gracie has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Gracie being controlled here, momentarily.
 That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dukat manages to get himself to full guard.
Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Gracie (2) vs (11) Dukat Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Dukat is retaining full guard. Dukat keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Gracie is really struggling to control Dukat but he's trying to hold on to the position.
 That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dukat swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gracie has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Dukat is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dukat is pulling down on Gracie's head. It's preventing any offense from Gracie, at least for the moment.
