PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Way Nada (ranked 23301 p4p, 23312 weight class) and Minatay Mibangon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 62 - 63 - 5, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 49 - 66 - 14, fighting out of Las Vegas, Minatay Mibangon!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
No luck for Mibangon with that takedown attempt.
Nada fails to land the takedown.
Mibangon steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nada changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Nada feints and as Mibangon raises his hands in defense, Nada changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Nada gets the takedown into side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nada pulls Mibangon in to control the position.
Nada wants to sweep here but Mibangon controlling him for the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Nada shoots in looking for a takedown but Mibangon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nada's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Nada is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Nada controls Mibangon momentarily but Mibangon frees himself.

Minatay Mibangon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Nada misses with a takedown attempt - Mibangon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Nada shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Nada closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nada lands in his opponent's guard.

Mibangon has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Nada has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Minatay Mibangon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
