Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Larry Kings!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Fox Ponsonby!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kings steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ponsonby.
Kings takes one on the button.
Kings closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ponsonby is looking to get back to his feet here but Kings is keeping cool and he's managed to take Ponsonby's back.
Kings slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Kings is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Ponsonby has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Kings has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Ponsonby taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Kings doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Larry Kings!
