Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Salter JR (ranked 1641 p4p, 2742 weight class) and Broderick Booth (ranked 164 p4p, 275 weight class). The key to victory for Salter JR has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Salter JR!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Broderick Booth!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
JR misses with a takedown
and Booth counters with a nice uppercut.
Booth lands with a nice combination. JR backs away looking to recover.
JR lands a glancing blow to the side of Booth's head.
A telegraphed right hand from Booth misses the target.
JR dives in and grabs Booth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Booth pushes down on JR's head and hops out.
Booth throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
JR fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Booth looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
JR throws a jab but it's blocked by Booth.
Booth is clearly trying to counter these attacks from JR with a body shot.
JR misses the jab.
Booth tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but JR was well out of range. Poor timing from Booth.
Nice straight punches there by Booth. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Booth.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
JR swings wildly with an uppercut but Booth uses good head movement to avoid it.
Booth misses with a punch to the body.
JR is working for takedown but Booth is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Salter JR. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Booth digs a good body shot into JR's ribs.
Booth throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
JR appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Booth tries to bum rush JR with a series of wild strikes but JR uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
JR was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Salter JR seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
JR scores with the left hand. Booth knows he should have avoided that one.

JR moves into the clinch successfully.
Our sources have told us that JR has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
JR is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

JR is nestled in close to Booth, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
JR is thwarting Booth's attempts to control the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. JR connects with a nice short shot to Booth's temple.
Booth is looking for a sweep. JR is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Booth can do anything to dispel that myth.

JR seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
