Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ray Luciano (ranked 2336 p4p, 24871 weight class) and Magomed Magomedsharipov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luciano comes to the cage accompanied by SHORT PEOPLE. Magomedsharipov has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Magomed Magomedsharipov was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luciano connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Luciano stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Luciano comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Magomedsharipov shoots for a takedown but Luciano saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Magomedsharipov has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Luciano finds it's way round the side to connect with Magomedsharipov's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Magomedsharipov on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Magomedsharipov crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Luciano - the referee stops the clock and Magomedsharipov gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Luciano. Magomedsharipov manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Magomedsharipov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Luciano dips a shoulder and cracks Magomedsharipov with a mighty uppercut! Magomedsharipov falls back against the cage and Luciano unloads with a barrage of strikes! Magomedsharipov is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Luciano screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
