Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Markus (ranked 3863 p4p, 3828 weight class) and Jimmy Buler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Markus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Buler!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buler takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Markus defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Buler.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Buler.
Buler fails with a takedown attempt.
Dan Markus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Buler.
Markus scores with a jab to the head.
Buler fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Markus sprawls well initially but Buler persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Markus is not content to let Buler control the position.
Buler looks to land a strike but Markus avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Markus has his hands on Buler's head, controlling the position.
Markus has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Buler's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Buler wants to pass the guard but Markus is keeping the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Markus lands with a shot to the body.
Buler shoots in but Markus avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Buler looks winded!
Jab, jab by Markus - just one landing.
Buler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Buler is trying hard to land a takedown here. Markus sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Buler has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Markus finds it's way round the side to connect with Buler's head.
Markus takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Dan Markus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Markus lands a nice looking body shot.
Markus scores with a nice strike.
Markus lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Markus connects with a body shot.
Oooooh!!! Markus has knocked Buler down with a huge combo! Markus steps away and waves a wobbly Buler back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Buler is rocked!
Buler glances at the clock... BAM! Markus nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Buler crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Buler is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dan Markus!
Dan Markus was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
