Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stewart Charelston (ranked 3381 p4p, 2666 weight class) and Harri Virtanen (ranked 283 p4p, 228 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stewart Charelston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Harri Virtanen! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and William Gold.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Charelston throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Virtanen raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Charelston looks for a takedown but Virtanen sprawls well. Charelston lands a jab-cross combination.
 It looks like Harri Virtanen has been cut. Charelston throws a head kick that misses. Virtanen tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Charelston catches Virtanen with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Virtanen tries to clinch up but Charelston circles away and keeps his distance. Charelston fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Jab by Charelston. A decent looking body kick lands there for Charelston. Charelston tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Virtanen swivels and escapes. Virtanen tries to counter with a clinch but Charelston shakes him off and moves away.
Virtanen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Charelston on his heels. He'll look to pass Charelston's guard now, I'm sure. Charelston on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Charelston tries to get out of the position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Charelston wants to get back to his feet but Virtanen is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Virtanen content to stall in guard here. Charelston will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Virtanen throwing strikes from guard but Charelston blocks nicely. Virtanen has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Helsinki. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Virtanen slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Charelston gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Virtanen looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Charelston really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Charelston is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Virtanen with shots to the head and body - Charelston looks very uncomfortable down there. Charelston knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Virtanen on the ground. Virtanen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Charelston's face.

Virtanen working away from the top, dropping strikes. Virtanen controlling the position easily from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Virtanen prevents Charelston from getting the reversal. Virtanen avoids the attempt from Charelston to control.
Virtanen stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Charelston scores with a sloppy right hand. Virtanen should have avoided that one. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Charelston wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Virtanen tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Charelston looks for the body kick but Virtanen saw that one coming. Charelston misses with a double jab
and Virtanen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Charelston won't be happy with that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Virtanen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Charelston keeps working. Charelston wants to control but Virtanen postures up. Virtanen prevents Charelston from escaping the position. Sloppy strikes there by Virtanen.
Virtanen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Charelston is not content to let Virtanen control the position. Charelston bucks up and tries to throw Virtanen off but instead Virtanen has got his back!
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Charelston is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Charelston is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Virtanen gets his way!
You can see the frustration on Charelston's face� He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Charelston avoids the strikes from Virtanen. Virtanen lands with a hammerfist to the side of Charelston's head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Virtanen lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Charelston hold on?!
Virtanen is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Charelston has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Virtanen is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Charelston is defending well though. Virtanen let's go of the attempt for now. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Harri Virtanen dominated that round. The cut man is working on Harri Virtanen's cut. That's time! Charelston's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Virtanen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Charelston tries to avoid it but Virtanen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Charelston to the ground. Charelston escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Nice takedown defense from Virtanen. No joy for Charelston on that attempt. Virtanen tries to counter with a clinch but Charelston shakes him off and moves away. Virtanen tries to close the distance and clinch but Charelston swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Stewart Charelston is winning the standup battle so far. Charelston works the jab nicely. Charelston lands with a hook. Virtanen tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Charelston misses with a series of wild punches.
Virtanen is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. A left lands for Charelston. Good exchange - Charelston coming out on top.

Charelston tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Virtanen avoids it. Charelston lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Charelston lands a nice elbow from the clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A nice glancing elbow lands by Charelston. Charelston tries to work over Virtanen's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Charelston tries a body shot but Virtanen blocks it.
Virtanen pulls guard effortlessly. Virtanen working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Charelston. Virtanen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Virtanen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Charelston's head. Charelston is trying to stand.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Virtanen connects with a nice short shot to Charelston's temple. Virtanen perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Charelston wants to get back to his feet.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Virtanen not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Charelston keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Virtanen throwing shots but Charelston is blocking nicely. Virtanen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Virtanen missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Charelston wants to stand back up but Virtanen manages to pass into side control.

 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Virtanen blocks an elbow strike. Charelston lands an elbow inside that Virtanen shrugs off. Virtanen has Charelston pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Charelston manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Charelston lands a body punch in the clinch. A right hand to the body from Charelston.
Virtanen is breathing heavily. Charelston lands a left hand.
Charelston makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Charelston has Virtanen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Virtanen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Charelston is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Charelston lands an elbow that stopped Virtanen in his tracks for a moment.

 That has opened up Harri Virtanen's cut even more. Charelston lands a nice uppercut. Charelston lands a damaging elbow. Charelston throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Virtanen won't allow Charelston to get back to his feet. Harri Virtanen has got the better of the ground game so far. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
 That's one minute gone in the round. Virtanen is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Charelston wants to stand but Virtanen is controlling the position. Virtanen is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Charelston is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Charelston not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
 The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Charelston is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Virtanen can do to turn this around? Nice sprawl there from Charelston as Virtanen shoots in. Charelston works over Virtanen's head and body with a nice combination. Charelston showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Virtanen.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Charelston throws a chopping leg kick but Virtanen manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Virtanen drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Virtanen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Charelston. Charelston swings for the body but Virtanen moves out of range.
Virtanen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Charelston sprawls well. Charelston wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Virtanen gets slowly back to his feet. Virtanen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Virtanen is defended easily by Charelston. Stewart Charelston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harri Virtanen.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Charelston tries to throw a body punch but Virtanen avoids it by throwing Charelston back against the cage. Charelston lands a body punch in the clinch. Nice elbow from Charelston. Charelston presses Virtanen against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Stewart Charelston has scored more points in the clinch so far. Charelston has Virtanen pressed against the cage.
Virtanen is trying to drag Charelston to the mat but Charelston just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Charelston comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
 The cut above Harri Virtanen's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Virtanen tries to break the clinch but Charelston is controlling the position. A short uppercut from Charelston. Nice elbow from Charelston. Virtanen takes an elbow to the forehead.
 Harri Virtanen's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Charelston goes for a takedown in the clinch but Virtanen prevents it.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Virtanen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Virtanen blocks an elbow strike. Charelston pushes off an throws an elbow but Virtanen leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Charelston throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Charelston darts in and clinches Virtanen up against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Virtanen jumps guard and drags Charelston to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. We've been hearing that Charelston has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Charelston trying to control but Virtanen is working from the bottom. Virtanen is looking to stand up but Charelston isn't so interested in that idea. Virtanen working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Charelston. Virtanen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
