Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hiroshimo Sakamoto (ranked 5373 p4p, 5372 weight class) and Massiel Tomás (ranked 429 p4p, 428 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hiroshimo Sakamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Massiel Tomás!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakamoto avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sakamoto went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Sakamoto throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Tomás stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Tomás scores with a shot to the body.
Sakamoto definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Tomás feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sakamoto wants to get back to his feet but Tomás passes into half guard.
Tomás is trying to work for a kimura but Sakamoto is defending well.
Sakamoto has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tomás is working away from the top position though.

Tomás postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sakamoto is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tomás, into his guard.
Sakamoto has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Tomás is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Sakamoto frees his head nicely. Oh but Tomás has switched to an armbar! Sakamoto is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
