Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emperor closes the distance and clinches up with Joppe, looking for a takedown. Emperor pushes Joppe against the cage but Joppe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Emperor shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Joppe but Joppe pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Joppe gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Joppe is trying to trip Emperor. He has hold of a leg but Emperor is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Joppe persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Joppe tries to free his leg and advance position but Emperor is retaining full guard.
Joppe has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Emperor is proving hard to escape from.
Emperor controls Joppe momentarily but Joppe frees himself.
Emperor looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Emperor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Joppe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Emperor looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joppe passes Emperor's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Emperor looks gassed!
Joppe is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Emperor doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Joppe.
Joppe seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Joppe's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Emperor won't allow Joppe to pass to mount.
Emperor wants to control but Joppe is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Well, if Joppe is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Joppe stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Emperor to get to his feet.
Joppe fails with an attempt to clinch.
Joppe drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Emperor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Joppe can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Joppe stands up and waves to Emperor to follow him.

Emperor has his foot on Joppe's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Joppe works his way back into a safe position though.
Emperor looking for subs off his back but Joppe has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's time! Joppe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Joppe jabs at Emperor's body.
Emperor shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Joppe counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Joppe.
Emperor tries to pull guard but Joppe won't allow it.
Emperor is fighting off a takedown attempt but Joppe is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Emperor to the mat. Emperor regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Emperor wants to control but Joppe is keeping busy.

Emperor is looking for a sweep. Joppe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Joppe content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Joppe decides to stand up.
Joppe closes the distance and pushes Emperor back into the cage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Joppe lands with a right to the head.
Emperor tries for a takedown. No joy.
Jah Joppe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Last Emperor.
Emperor is trying to drag Joppe to the mat but Joppe just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Joppe successfully pulls guard.
Emperor trying to control the position from guard on top but Joppe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Joppe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Joppe is controlling Emperor's posture.
Emperor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Joppe swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Emperor is fighting to break Joppe's control of his arms but Joppe is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Emperor stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Joppe to get to his feet.
Joppe bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Joppe working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Joppe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Emperor on the ground.
Emperor is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Joppe's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Emperor circles away from the clinch attempt.
Joppe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Joppe gets to his feet - Emperor follows without any prompting.
Emperor doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Joppe counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Emperor's guard now.
Joppe's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Emperor wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Joppe connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Emperor some visible discomfort.
An elbow from Joppe crashes against the mat.
Joppe wants to stand but Emperor has his arm trapped.
Emperor manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Emperor is looking to take a break and control but Joppe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Joppe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Emperor tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Emperor tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Emperor prevents any damage by holding on tight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Joppe avoids the attempt from Emperor to control.

Jah Joppe showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Joppe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
