Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rufus Globe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 50 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Magomed Magomedsharipov!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magomedsharipov walks into a stiff left hand from Globe.
Magomedsharipov goes for a double leg but Globe avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Globe continues to drive forward.

Magomedsharipov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Globe to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Magomedsharipov wants to get back to his feet but Globe passes into half guard.
Magomedsharipov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Globe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Globe drops an elbow to the side of Magomedsharipov's head.
Magomedsharipov is looking for a sweep. Globe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Globe perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Magomedsharipov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nice strikes from Globe there.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Magomedsharipov has hold of Globe's hands but Globe slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Magomedsharipov taking some punishment here, with Globe in his half guard.
Globe is taking a breather. Magomedsharipov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Globe looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Globe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Magomedsharipov actively working from the bottom here.
Magomedsharipov looks winded!

Globe controlling the pace.
Globe working the head and body with strikes.
Magomedsharipov wants to improve his position but Globe is controlling well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Globe connects with a nice short shot to Magomedsharipov's temple.

Globe perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Globe working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Globe looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Magomedsharipov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Globe looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Globe is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Globe lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Globe is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Magomedsharipov!

Globe is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Globe lands with some strikes.

Magomedsharipov is rocked!
Globe scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Magomedsharipov?
Magomedsharipov is still in real trouble! Can Globe finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Globe lands a couple of good shots and Magomedsharipov has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Globe lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.

Globe is cranking Magomedsharipov's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Magomedsharipov! He's tightened the choke and Magomedsharipov is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rufus Globe!
Rufus Globe seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
