Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cain Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Simon Vaughan!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Vaughan.
Velasquez bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Vaughan throws a big shot that misses.
It looked like Velasquez wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
A head kick misses from Velasquez.
Velasquez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Velasquez throws a right and a left that Vaughan avoids nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vaughan walks into a left hand.
Velasquez takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Vaughan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Velasquez but Velasquez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Vaughan has his takedown stuffed
and Velasquez counters with a nice uppercut.
We've been told by Velasquez's head coaches at Sydney Top Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Velasquez slips under a jab.
Vaughan misses with a hook to the body
and Velasquez makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Vaughan throws a hook but Velasquez blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vaughan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Velasquez was well out of range. Poor timing from Vaughan.
Velasquez thinks about countering with a head kick.

Vaughan feints the counter takedown.
Vaughan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Velasquez sprawls well. Velasquez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vaughan gets slowly back to his feet.

Cain Velasquez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Simon Vaughan.
Velasquez lands a jab to the nose.

Velasquez wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Simon Vaughan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vaughan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Velasquez but Velasquez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Velasquez throws a nice looking combination but Vaughan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vaughan throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Vaughan fails with the takedown
and Velasquez counters with a big right hand! Oh Vaughan is in trouble here! Velasquez follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
