Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Conor Pena (ranked 1423 p4p, 1633 weight class) and Portin Vartija (ranked 185 p4p, 212 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Conor Pena!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Portin Vartija!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vartija clobbers Pena with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Conor Pena has been cut.
Pena has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Soul Supremacy Rio in the buildup to the fight.
Vartija throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Vartija throws a jab but it's blocked by Pena.
Vartija lands with a kick to the temple. Pena shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Vartija tries to bum rush Pena with a series of wild strikes but Pena uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pena is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Vartija takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Pena swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Vartija tests Pena's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Vartija lands a big head kick that sends Pena tumbling to the mat! Vartija takes a step backwards and waves Pena back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Pena is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vartija moves in close and cracks Pena with a massive right hand! Pena, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Vartija!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Portin Vartija!
Portin Vartija decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
