Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Wheeler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Combs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wheeler comes to the cage accompanied by New World Awaits. Ryan Wheeler has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Wheeler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Combs! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wheeler throws a right and a left that Combs avoids nicely. Combs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wheeler throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Wheeler is pushing Combs's head away, looking to escape. Combs manages to hold on to the position though. Combs cracks Wheeler with a big right hand but Wheeler just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Combs in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Combs thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Wheeler throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Wheeler is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Combs asserts his dominance and retains side control. Combs is putting a hurting on Wheeler here, landing some big shots from side control. Combs cracks Wheeler with a big right hand but Wheeler just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Combs looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Wheeler is breathing heavily. Wheeler is trying to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Combs cracks Wheeler with a big elbow. Combs remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Wheeler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Combs stands up. Combs feints and as Wheeler raises his hands in defense, Combs changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Combs postures up and lands a big shot to Wheeler's brow. Combs controls from within his opponent's guard. Combs works over Wheeler with some ground and pound from guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Combs with a nice head shot there. Wheeler is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Combs is working Wheeler over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Combs working some strikes from top position. Wheeler keeping moving, preventing Combs from controlling successfully. Wheeler striking off his back but it's not causing Combs any problems. Combs connects with a couple of short punches. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Combs feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Combs postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wheeler tries to strike from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Combs bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Wheeler is trying to buck Combs off. Wheeler throws Combs to one side and escapes!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wheeler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Combs closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wheeler to the mat! Wheeler manages to get full guard. Combs scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Wheeler throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Wheeler wants to stand and escape but Combs is having none of it. Combs won't allow Wheeler to sweep him here. Wheeler will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Combs with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Combs shoots in and drives through. Wheeler sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, if Combs is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Wheeler kicks Combs off and gets back to his feet. Wheeler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Combs circles away quickly and effectively. Wheeler throws a hook but Combs blocks it. Combs looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Wheeler! Combs with the ground and pound from mount. Wheeler tries to reverse the position but Combs maintains control. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Combs cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Combs scoring with strikes but Wheeler is staying in there. Ryan Wheeler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Peter Combs is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Combs moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Wheeler has worked his arm free - good work by Wheeler!
And that's the end of the fight! Peter Combs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Combs winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
