Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Grappling Panda (ranked 2320 p4p, 3619 weight class) and Rafa Peziev (ranked 201 p4p, 303 weight class). Rafa Peziev will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grappling Panda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rafa Peziev!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Peziev looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Panda tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Peziev manages to circle out of the way.
Panda keeps the fight on the outside.
Panda tries to counter by clinching up but Peziev breaks away and moves out of range.
Panda keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Peziev.
Rafa Peziev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Grappling Panda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafa Peziev.

Panda swats away the attempt to clinch by Peziev.
Panda has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Peziev looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Panda counters by clinching up.
Panda tries to pull guard but Peziev forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Panda jumps guard but Peziev stands there with Panda around his waist. Panda gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Panda ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Panda no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Peziev looking to sit in guard and control but Panda gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Peziev isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Panda stacks Peziev on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Panda!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Peziev is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Peziev wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Peziev is trying to escape the position but Panda is controlling the position.
Peziev throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Peziev bucks up and tries to throw Panda off but instead Panda has got his back!
Peziev wants to get back to his feet.
Good control from Panda.
You can see the frustration on Peziev's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peziev turns into Panda and is now in his guard.
Panda is pulling down on Peziev's head. It's preventing any offense from Peziev, at least for the moment.

Peziev wants to control from the top but Panda keeps moving.
Peziev is working Panda over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Peziev connects with a couple of short punches.

Peziev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Panda is fending him off so far but Peziev persists. Nope, Panda circles away and we're back to standing.
Peziev fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Panda avoids it really well and circles away.
Panda moves into the clinch.

Peziev gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Panda regains guard.
Peziev wants to pass the guard but Panda is keeping the position.

Panda might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Panda is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Peziev is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Peziev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Panda swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Panda seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Peziev accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Peziev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Panda pinned against the cage. Panda gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Peziev fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Panda has taken the fight to the clinch.
Peziev has Panda pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Peziev pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Panda tumbling to the mat - Peziev dives into Panda's guard.

Peziev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Panda doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Panda manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Peziev throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Panda escapes and throws Peziev's legs to the side, diving into side control!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
