Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frenkie Chen (ranked 2912 p4p, 2516 weight class) and Xavier Cavahlo (ranked 352 p4p, 0 weight class). Frenkie Chen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Frenkie Chen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Xavier Cavahlo! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Paul Tew.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cavahlo moves out of range of the strikes. Chen misses with a looping left. Chen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cavahlo is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Chen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Chen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Chen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Chen has taken the fight to the clinch.
Chen misses with a short punch on the inside. Chen misses with a hook from the clinch. Cavahlo has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Chen after a bit of a struggle. Cavahlo throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Chen misses with some punches.
Chen tries to work over Cavahlo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Chen lands a left hand that snaps the head of Cavahlo backwards. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Chen. Chen keeps control of Cavahlo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Chen misses with a short punch on the inside. Chen misses with a hook from the clinch. Chen tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cavahlo's elbow. A head punch blocked on the inside by Cavahlo.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Chen gets underhooks to prevent Cavahlo's takedown attempt.

Chen lands a left hand that snaps the head of Cavahlo backwards. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Chen. Cavahlo jumps guard but Chen stands there with Cavahlo around his waist. Cavahlo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Frenkie Chen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xavier Cavahlo. Cavahlo tries to break the clinch but Chen is controlling the position. Chen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Chen swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Cavahlo turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Cavahlo manages to end up in side control. Cavahlo working away. Chen is trying to get back to half guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Cavahlo throws an elbow but Chen slips to the side and avoids it well. A lull in the action here. Cavahlo misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Chen keeps Cavahlo under control for a moment. Cavahlo throws a strike aimed at the side of Chen's head but Chen avoids it well. Cavahlo trying to control the action but Chen is working from the bottom.
Cavahlo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cavahlo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Chen is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Cavahlo is one step ahead and moves to full mount! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cavahlo avoids the attempt from Chen to control. Chen is trying to reverse the position but instead Cavahlo has taken his back - oops! Chen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cavahlo on the ground.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Cavahlo avoiding Chen 's attempts to control his hands. Chen can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cavahlo trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chen is trying to break free.

Chen tries to escape but Cavahlo has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Cavahlo not allowing Chen to control his hands. Cavahlo throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Cavahlo tries to keep control of the position but Chen is staying busy. Cavahlo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Chen haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Chen breaks Cavahlo's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Cavahlo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Chen controls the pace. Cavahlo wants to sweep here but Chen controlling him for the moment. Cavahlo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Frenkie Chen will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Cavahlo darts in and clinches Chen up against the cage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A left hand lands to the body for Chen.

Cavahlo gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Chen is holding on to half guard well. Cavahlo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cavahlo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Chen won't allow Cavahlo to pass to mount.

Cavahlo tries to get the hooks in deep but Chen pushed the leg off. Chen just trying to survive but Cavahlo is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Chen is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Chen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cavahlo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Frenkie Chen will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Xavier Cavahlo's cut. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Cavahlo counters with a head kick. That will keep Chen thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Cavahlo closes the distance and clinches up with Chen, looking for a takedown. Cavahlo pushes Chen against the cage but Chen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Chen is looking to counter the offense by Cavahlo and move into the clinch. The fighters circling - Chen throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Cavahlo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Chen is looking to counter punch. Chen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Nice defenses there by Cavahlo. Chen just misses with a punch to the body.

Cavahlo fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Chen to the ground. Cavahlo is now in Chen's guard. Cavahlo's corner is telling him to maintain position. Chen is trying to control the position but Cavahlo postures up.
Cavahlo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. This has been an exciting period of action! Cavahlo walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Chen seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Cavahlo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Chen pulls Cavahlo in close to his closed guard and prevents Cavahlo from doing any damage or advancing position. Chen on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Chen tries to get out of the position. Chen is trying to hold Cavahlo in close to prevent damage but Cavahlo has managed to pass into half guard.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Chen wants to control but Cavahlo is keeping busy and won't allow it. Cavahlo uses his free foot to push down on Chen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Chen. Cavahlo looking to control and managing it successfully. Cavahlo thowing shots but they're missing. Chen is trying desperately to improve position. Chen is working hard here to advance position. Chen wants to hold on but Cavahlo pushes him away.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Chen holds on for dear life. Chen tries to lock up and control but Cavahlo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Cavahlo sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Chen is squirming around, avoiding Cavahlo's attempts to control the action. Cavahlo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Cavahlo looking to ground and pound but Chen is blocking nicely. Cavahlo wants to control the pace but Chen is squirming around nicely. Chen is in all sorts of trouble here.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Chen tries to lock up and control but Cavahlo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Cavahlo thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Xavier Cavahlo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Frenkie Chen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
And that's the end of the fight! Xavier Cavahlo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Chen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by split decision... Frenkie Chen! Frenkie Chen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
