Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Diogo Aveiro (ranked 3843 p4p, 5282 weight class) and Felo Puapua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Diogo Aveiro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Felo Puapua! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puapua gets in close and instigates a clinch. Puapua is struggling to control the position.
Aveiro has picked Puapua up - he's going for a ride! Aveiro dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Aveiro is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Puapua is just riding it out for now. Aveiro eventually gives up the hold. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aveiro is trying to control the action in half guard but Puapua is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Aveiro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aveiro missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Aveiro is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Puapua controlling the position for now. Aveiro is looking to pass Puapua's guard but actually Puapua recovers to full guard. Puapua wants to sweep here but Aveiro controlling him for the moment.
Aveiro has gone for a leg lock! Puapua slips out almost immediately though and dives into Aveiro's guard.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Puapua pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Aveiro is keeping the position for now. Puapua postures up.
Puapua slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Aveiro looking to hit a scissor sweep but Puapua is one step ahead there. Puapua is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Puapua preventing the sweep. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Puapua showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Puapua clinches up against the cage. Aveiro wants to break the clinch but can't.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Aveiro decides to pull guard. Aveiro can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Puapua controls the pace.
Aveiro had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Puapua defends it easily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Puapua seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Diogo Aveiro will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

Puapua closes the distance and pushes Aveiro back into the cage.
Aveiro jumps guard and drags Puapua to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Aveiro wants to sweep here but Puapua controlling him for the moment. Aveiro wants to hit a sweep here but Puapua passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Aveiro there! Aveiro is wriggling around trying to escape.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Puapua looking to control and managing it successfully.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Aveiro is in all sorts of trouble here.

Puapua tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Puapua prevents Aveiro from getting the reversal.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Puapua controlling the position easily from mount. Aveiro regains half guard. Diogo Aveiro overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Aveiro wants to improve his position but Puapua is controlling well.
Aveiro has a hand on Puapua's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Puapua takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Aveiro is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Aveiro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Felo Puapua showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Aveiro manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Puapua must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
