Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Griffin (ranked 2289 p4p, 2654 weight class) and Lars Gunnar Ekberg (ranked 290 p4p, 328 weight class). Matthew Griffin could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Lars Gunnar Ekberg's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lars Gunnar Ekberg!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Topper Green and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ekberg tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Griffin defends well and Ekberg ends up having to push Griffin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Griffin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Griffin wants it to stay on the feet.
Griffin's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ekberg under the eye.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Ekberg working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
