Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Duncan Vazquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gianni Hamilton!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vazquez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hamilton is looking to improve his position.
Hamilton is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Vazquez scores with a couple of nice shots.
Vazquez throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hamilton flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Vazquez is controlling the pace.
Hamilton is looking to control Vazquez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hamilton avoid being mounted?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vazquez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hamilton with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Vazquez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Hamilton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vazquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vazquez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hamilton keeps working.
