Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roman Kersikov (ranked 2000 p4p, 1150 weight class) and Ola Badmus (ranked 247 p4p, 148 weight class). Kersikov's entrance music is 2 Best Enemies - Phases . A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roman Kersikov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ola Badmus!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kersikov cracks Badmus with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Badmus misses with a body shot.
Badmus throws a head kick that misses.
Kersikov takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Badmus gets caught napping as Kersikov dives in and scores a takedown. Badmus manages to retain guard.

Badmus is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kersikov defends well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Badmus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kersikov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kersikov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee asks Kersikov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kersikov prefers to stall for the moment though.

As Kersikov backs off Badmus throws a huge counter combo but Kersikov manages to avoid it all.

Kersikov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Badmus for as long as he can get away with.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
