Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Antonio Branco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Glass Joe Jr!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurstr�m, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Branco throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Joe Jr throws a hook but Branco avoids it easily.
Joe Jr throws an off balance right hand
and Branco counters with a nice double leg into side control. Joe Jr won't be happy with that.
Joe Jr is looking to reverse the position.
Branco tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Joe Jr takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Branco throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Joe Jr works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Joe Jr is trying to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Branco frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Joe Jr slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Joe Jr avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Branco.
Branco thows a huge punch but Joe Jr dodges it nicely.
Branco is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Joe Jr desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Joe Jr wants to sweep but Branco has passed to side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Branco misses with the ground and pound.
Branco has an Americana. Joe Jr didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Branco is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Branco hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Antonio Branco!
After winning the bout, Antonio Branco thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
