The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hekkala is looking to land body kicks.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pumpkins. Hekkala does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hekkala thinks about the counter body kick.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Pumpkins throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Hekkala lands a big head kick that sends Pumpkins tumbling to the mat! Hekkala takes a step backwards and waves Pumpkins back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Hekkala pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Hekkala throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Pumpkins throws a lazy right hand but Hekkala sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hekkala looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Pumpkins looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pumpkins blocks a head kick by Hekkala.
Hekkala throws a head kick but Pumpkins moves out of range.
Hekkala misses with a looping left.

Pumpkins misses with a straight right.
As Pumpkins backs off Hekkala throws a huge counter combo but Pumpkins manages to avoid it all.
Hekkala takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Pumpkins is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Hekkala misses the shot to the body.
Pumpkins is looking to counter punch.
Carl Pumpkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hekkala stalks Pumpkins and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pumpkins's face. Pumpkins staggers backwards, shaken.
Pumpkins definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Pumpkins takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Hekkala changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Hekkala swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pumpkins counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Hekkala throws the kick towards the body but Pumpkins avoids it.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hekkala darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Hekkala ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hekkala slips under a jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hekkala throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Pumpkins cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pumpkins misses with a double jab
and Pumpkins takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Hekkala - that will leave a mark!
A swing and a miss from Pumpkins.
Pumpkins lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
It looks like Horus Hekkala has been cut.

A relieved looking Horus Hekkala thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
