Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matija Maestro (ranked 1993 p4p, 1847 weight class) and Guy River (ranked 180 p4p, 165 weight class). Maestro comes to the cage accompanied by Planet Caravan - Black Sabbath. River has chosen Gabon National Anthem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Guy River was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
River throws a looping overhand right but Maestro ducks down to avoid it.
Maestro swings for the body but River moves out of range.

Nice uppercut lands for River. That snapped Maestro's head back.

Maestro feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

River uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Maestro has time to react.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Maestro looks up at the clock and then as River takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Maestro smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Maestro remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
