The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eduardo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
mikn shoots and misses

and Eduardo counters with a single leg into guard. mikn didn't expect that.

Eduardo gets to his feet - mikn follows without any prompting.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Eduardo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Eduardo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
mikn misses with a takedown attempt

and Eduardo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in mikn's guard now.

Eduardo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! mikn is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! mikn has escaped and now he's on top!

mikn wants to control the pace but Eduardo is squirming around nicely.
Eduardo tries to reverse the position but mikn maintains control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
mikn avoids the attempt from Eduardo to control.

mikn fails with the takedown

and Eduardo counters by moving into the clinch.

mikn is fighting off a takedown attempt but Eduardo is just too persistent for him and manages to trip mikn to the mat. mikn regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

mikn jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Eduardo manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Eduardo looks to move to half guard but instead mikn has passed into mount! Damn!
mikn prevents Eduardo from getting the reversal.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
mikn wants to get back to his feet but Eduardo is holding on tight.
mikn trying to control but he's not successful this time.
mikn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

mikn stands and throws Eduardo's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Eduardo regains half guard there - taking advantage of mikn's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

mikn tries to free his leg and advance position but Eduardo is retaining full guard.
mikn wants to stand but Eduardo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
