Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Deangelo Strickland (ranked 830 p4p, 2193 weight class) and Bingus Khan (ranked 107 p4p, 254 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Deangelo Strickland! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Bingus Khan! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strickland throws the left hand but Khan avoids the punch easily. Khan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Khan walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Khan takes a jab right on the kisser.

Khan swings widly with a right hand
and Strickland counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Khan misses with a hook. Strickland ducked under it nicely. This has been an exciting period of action! Khan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Strickland misses with a straight right. Strickland throws a nice looking combination but Khan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Khan throws the left hand but Strickland avoids the punch easily. It looked like Strickland wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Strickland cracks Khan with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Strickland cracks Khan with an open hand slap. A slapping leg kick lands for Strickland.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Nice straight punches there by Khan. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Khan. Strickland dips to his left and cracks Khan with an uppercut! Khan keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Khan gets slowly back to his feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Khan is defended easily by Strickland. Deangelo Strickland has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bingus Khan. Strickland lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Strickland throws a shot from downtown. Khan moves away and avoids it.

Khan tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. This has been an exciting period of action! Khan misses with a straight right. Khan ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Deangelo Strickland is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Strickland throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Khan pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Strickland back to the cage. Khan follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. A nice leg kick from Strickland, right into the meat of the thigh.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Khan. We've been told by Strickland's head coaches at Banzai Combat Academy LA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Strickland misses with a looping left. A little jabbing left from Khan on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Khan misses with a straight right. Strickland scores with a nice body kick.
Strickland moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Strickland getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Nice defenses there by Khan. Nice sprawl there from Strickland as Khan shoots in. Strickland loads up on a big right hand but Khan slips the punch.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Khan with a poor takedown and Strickland counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Khan thinking. A good leg kick by Strickland. Strickland fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Khan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Khan throws a shot from downtown. Strickland moves away and avoids it. Khan tries to move into range but Strickland moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Strickland slips a jab from Khan. Strickland misses the shot to the body. Strickland moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Strickland connects with a good right hand that stumbles Khan. Khan circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Strickland slips a jab and a cross from Khan.

Khan slips a jab from Strickland. This has been an exciting period of action! Khan on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Strickland throws a body kick that misses. Khan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Strickland misses with a wild body shot. Khan misses the shot to the body. The fighters circle momentarily. Strickland darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Strickland ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Strickland with a nice cross.
Khan closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Strickland's guard. Strickland has control of Khan's left arm, preventing Khan from doing any damage. Strickland trying to control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Khan controls from within his opponent's guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Khan sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Strickland connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Khan momentarily.

Khan shoots for a takedown but Strickland saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Khan takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Strickland scores with a punch to the head. Khan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Strickland circles away quickly and effectively. Khan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Strickland scores with a leg kick.
Khan dives in and grabs Strickland's left leg, looking for a takedown. Strickland pushes down on Khan's head and hops out. Khan tries for a takedown but Strickland sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Deangelo Strickland has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bingus Khan. Strickland lands with a shot to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Khan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Strickland is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Khan can do to turn this around? Khan is breathing heavily. Strickland tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Khan easily slips into full mount! Strickland on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Strickland tries to get out of the position.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Khan avoids the attempt from Strickland to control. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Strickland can't escape the position.
Strickland tries to hold on but Khan pushes him away. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Strickland tries to reverse the position but Khan maintains control. Strickland tries to lock up and control but Khan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Strickland is desperately trying to improve his position but Khan has a good base and remains in mount.  That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Khan content just to control the position here. Strickland wants to hold on but Khan pushes him away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Khan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bingus Khan will probably get the nod - 10:9. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Khan on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Khan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Khan takes a swing at Strickland's ribcage but misses. An attempted straight right counter from Strickland misses the target. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Strickland. Khan shrugs it off though. Khan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Strickland swings away with a leg kick that misses. Nice uppercut lands for Strickland. That snapped Khan's head back.
Khan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Strickland's waist but Strickland gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Khan off to one side. Strickland throws a series of punches but Khan avoids them all with ease. Strickland fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Khan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Strickland ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Khan moves away. Strickland goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Strickland scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Strickland misses the jab. Deangelo Strickland is winning the standup battle so far. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Strickland enables Khan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Strickland manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Strickland wants to control the position but Khan says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Strickland is trying to control but can't.

Strickland is trying to stand up here but Khan is controlling him well. Khan is thwarting Strickland's attempts to control the position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Khan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
 The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Bingus Khan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Khan misses with a wild body shot. Khan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Strickland looks to score with a jab to the body but Khan is just out of range. Strickland dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Strickland slaps away a takedown attempt from Khan, before circling back to the center of the mat. Khan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Khan gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Khan shoots in and drives through. Strickland sprawls well. Deangelo Strickland has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bingus Khan. Khan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Khan walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Strickland misses the shot to the body. Khan's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Strickland connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Khan scrambles back to his feet.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Khan throws a combination. Strickland tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Khan on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Khan fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Khan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Strickland defends it nicely. Strickland was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Strickland keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Khan has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Strickland swings and misses with a shot to the body and Khan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A slapping body kick lands there for Strickland. A looping hook to the body misses from Strickland. Khan does a little dance to reset his feet. Khan takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A head kick from Strickland lands but Khan takes it in his stride. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Strickland cracks Khan with a good jab.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Strickland moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Khan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Strickland.
Strickland throws a shot from downtown. Khan moves away and avoids it. Strickland is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Khan. Strickland smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
 Khan is rocked! Strickland cracks Khan with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Khan tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Strickland pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Khan is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Deangelo Strickland! In his post fight interview, Deangelo Strickland started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
