Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Curtis Tate Iii (ranked 22788 p4p, 22858 weight class) and Major Pain (ranked 508 p4p, 509 weight class). The key to victory for Curtis Tate Iii has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 56 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Curtis Tate Iii! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 23 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Major Pain! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pain is looking to clinch. Pain just misses with a punch to the body.

Pain doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Pain moves into the clinch. Pain is struggling to control the position.
Tate Iii manages to break the clinch.
Pain tries to land a front kick but Tate Iii steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Tate Iii is looking for a counter combo. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tate Iii misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pain.
Tate Iii closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Pain crashing to the mat! Pain uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!
 It looks like Major Pain has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pain throws a half hearted mid kick. Tate Iii misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pain.
Pain wants to counter with a clinch but Tate Iii pushes him away.
Pain has managed to clinch.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Tate Iii is struggling to control the position. Pain has Tate Iii pressed against the ropes, preventing Tate Iii from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Tate Iii working hard to break the clinch. Tate Iii on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Tate Iii is trying to break free.
Pain pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Tate Iii lands with a shot to the body. Pain drops his hands momentarily and Tate Iii takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Pain rushes Tate Iii and presses him up against the ropes. A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Tate Iii manages to break the clinch.
Pain wants to clinch up but Tate Iii keeps it at a distance. Curtis Tate Iii is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Pain avoids a punch combination nicely.

Tate Iii seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Tate Iii closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Pain moves into the clinch successfully.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pain is trying to break the clinch but Tate Iii has him pressed against the ropes. Tate Iii wants to stall.

Pain gets in close and instigates a clinch. Tate Iii is trying to push Pain away but Pain has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Pain tries to work over Tate Iii's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Pain closes the distance and pushes Tate Iii back into the ropes. Tate Iii tries to break free but Pain pushes him back against the ropes.
Pain pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Tate Iii throws a series of punches but Pain avoids them all with ease. Tate Iii swings for the body but Pain moves out of range.
Tate Iii works Pain's body with a nice hook. Tate Iii swings and misses with a hook to the body.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Tate Iii throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pain.
Pain closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Tate Iii definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Pain tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Tate Iii avoids it. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Tate Iii. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tate Iii stalling in the clinch but Pain improves position.

A punch combination from Tate Iii misses. Pain steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Tate Iii. Tate Iii tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pain was well out of range. Poor timing from Tate Iii. Danga de danga de dang - Pain scores with a four punch combination!

Curtis Tate Iii should take that round, based on the knockdown. The cut man is working on Major Pain's cut. That's time! Back to the action!

Tate Iii breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Tate Iii scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Tate Iii is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pain can do to turn this around?
Pain takes the fight into the clinch. Pain tries to work over Tate Iii's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Tate Iii's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Tate Iii dips to his left and cracks Pain with an uppercut! A combination from Tate Iii does no damage. Tate Iii fails to land with a series of punches.
Tate Iii swats away the attempt to clinch by Pain. Tate Iii was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Curtis Tate Iii is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tate Iii will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Tate Iii misses with a double jab.
A head kick by Pain misses and Tate Iii counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Pain misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
This has been an exciting period of action! Pain keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tate Iii throws a right hand that Pain ducks under and follows up with a left that Pain also avoids with ease. Pain tries to counter by closing the distance. Pain throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Tate Iii cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Pain glances at the clock... BAM! Tate Iii nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Pain crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Pain is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Curtis Tate Iii! Curtis Tate Iii retains his light heavyweight title!
