Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Li Gong (ranked 360 p4p, 683 weight class) and Tyres Widforss (ranked 34 p4p, 62 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Li Gong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyres Widforss!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gong takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Gong lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Widforss at a distance.
Widforss lands a jab to the nose.
Widforss walks into a straight right hand from Gong.
Tyres Widforss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gong plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

and Gong cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Gong throws out a leg kick but Widforss moves out of range and Gong only half commits.

Gong looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Widforss fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gong manages to avoid it.
It looked like Gong was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Widforss.
Gong gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Widforss throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gong cracks Widforss with a right hand to the side of the head.
Widforss takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Gong misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Widforss shoots in but no luck this time.
Li Gong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyres Widforss.
Widforss connects with a jab.
Gong connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Widforss comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Widforss lunges at Gong with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gong's hand.
Widforss is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Gong had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Gong jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

As Widforss backs away, Gong returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Widforss digs a good body shot into Gong's ribs.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gong uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Widforss.
Gong keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gong looks to land a left hand but Widforss moved out of range nicely.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Li Gong will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Widforss is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gong is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gong has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Widforss working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gong doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gong manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gong passes Widforss's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Widforss has a hand on Gong's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Gong takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Widforss is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Widforss wants to hold on but Gong pushes him away.
Gong controlling his opponent.
Gong wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Widforss keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gong takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Widforss is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Gong off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Widforss takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Gong cracks Widforss with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Gong has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Widforss to stand back up!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Whack! Gong lands a heavy head kick that drops Widforss. The ref tackles Gong to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Widforss was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Li Gong!
Li Gong tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
