Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nate Grothberg (ranked 4145 p4p, 3954 weight class) and Anzhar Mazvedov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mazvedov has chosen Gandagana as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazvedov gets a double leg takedown into Grothberg's guard.
Mazvedov decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Grothberg misses with a takedown attempt - Mazvedov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mazvedov changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Mazvedov tries to clinch up.
Mazvedov lands a front kick.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Mazvedov tries to land knees in the clinch but Grothberg avoids the damage to the body.
Grothberg breaks the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grothberg gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Mazvedov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Grothberg is looking to stand up but Mazvedov isn't so interested in that idea.

Mazvedov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Grothberg is looking for a triangle but Mazvedov pushes his legs off easily.
Mazvedov decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Grothberg will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Grothberg moves in looking to clinch but Mazvedov pushes him off.
Grothberg wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Mazvedov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Grothberg manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mazvedov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grothberg can't do much from the bottom here.
The referee asks Mazvedov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Mazvedov prefers to stall for the moment though.
Mazvedov decides to stand back up. Mazvedov steps back and let's Grothberg get back to his feet.
Grothberg's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Grothberg duly obliges.
Mazvedov looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Grothberg is wriggling around but Mazvedov manages to pass to half guard.
Grothberg might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mazvedov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Mazvedov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Grothberg's head.
Mazvedov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mazvedov wants to pass the guard but Grothberg is defending well.
Grothberg avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mazvedov.

Grothberg blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mazvedov.
Mazvedov stands up from half guard.
Mazvedov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Grothberg is trying to defend but Mazvedov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Grothberg wants to get back to his feet.
Grothberg trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The fight stays on the outside here - Grothberg looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Grothberg connects with a right hand. Mazvedov shakes it off.
Grothberg tries a head kick but it misses.
Mazvedov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mazvedov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Grothberg quickly recovers to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mazvedov is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Mazvedov extends the arm and Grothberg is forced to tap!
