Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Jian Zhao (ranked 1833 p4p, 21547 weight class) and Trent Denton (ranked 187 p4p, 471 weight class). Zhao's entrance music is Dirty Harry (Schtung Chinese New Year Remix) - Gorillaz. A fine choice. Denton has chosen Never Gonna Give You Up (2022 Remaster) as his entrance music. Trent Denton has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Trent Denton!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Denton clips Zhao with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Zhao a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.
It looks like Jian Zhao has been cut.
Denton throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Denton has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Zhao ducks under a wild hook from Denton.
As Denton tries to get set, Zhao tries to push him back and clinch up but Denton manages to avoid the attempt.

Denton lands with a kick to the temple. Zhao shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Denton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zhao circles away quickly and effectively.

and Denton counters with a three punch combo that has Zhao backing up. Zhao nods at Denton to acknowledge the strikes.
No joy there for Denton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Denton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Denton lands a head kick that bluckles Zhao and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with Denton no doubt looking to push for a finish!

I would just about give that final round to Trent Denton.
Well Denton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
